HOW TO BECOME A #GIRLBOSS

“I’m a very down-to-earth person, but it is my job to make that earth more pleasant.” — Karl Lagerfeld

What it means to be a girl boss and how can one translate that phrase into your personal life?

Growing up, I dreamt of having something of my own – something I’ll be working on every day. Leading it to success step-by-step. While running a blog,, hair services, and maintaining my grades. It’s quick overwhelming trying to juggle all three. I’ve had mental breakdowns, sleepless nights, and tiring mornings. Its worth it, I’m still growing and trying to become one successful young woman.

MY BOMB ASS TIPS

  1. FIND WHAT YOU’RE GOOD AT.

Having tons of experience isn’t required to starting your own brand. Find something you actually like to do! To work on what you love, be patient, persistent and willing to learn. Invest in something you REALLY love.

2. DEVOTION

Be devoted. Study all of your ideas. Is it realistic to make it happen? Work your way towards realizing it. You might have found what it is that you really love, which will branch into having MORE ideas from it. Find one that really excites you!

3. TO BE A GIRL BOSS YOU HAVE TO BE A SMART ONE. STUDY THE MARKET

Know the market. While doing hair, I can tell you a lot about the hair business. I can tell you rather its processed virgin hair or raw hair. Know the ins and outs of what you’re trying to sell. It’s ok to talk and network with other girls in your field. Will your idea/service/brand sell?

4. HELP ME.

Starting off alone is ok, but you shouldn’t be lonely. (Step 3) Finding the right business partners is a great essential. Wherever you lack, they’re always there to pick up the slack.

5. STAY ON TRACK

Don’t slack off.  Make a solid routine for your time and upcoming projects. Try sticking to it. Stay focus on your original plan and goal- do not distractions get in your way.

6. TO BE A BUSINESS WOMAN, ONE MUST ACT LIKE ONE

To think business means that you will not only have to think like BOSS but also start moving into a business environment. SURROUND yourself with other females that want the same thing as you in life. Carry yourself as such!

7. DRESS LIKE A SUCCESSFUL BOSS

Looks do matter. Once your business status changes, so will your appearance. You’ll have to switch it up. The way your move and present yourself to your new status.

8. MOTHERF*CKERS GONE HATE – FOREVER

Excuse my language, but people are going to hate regardless. The number of people that will support your new move will be smaller than the people who will try to be you down by pointing out the flaws. Be mentally prepared for the several amounts of negativity

9. BE THE BEST THAT YOU CAN BE

Since being on the path of gearing things up, I’ve practice “Law Of Attraction ” what you put into the atmosphere is what you shall receive. I always believed that being good to others will only come back to me in the best way possible. I’m not the only one who has dreams, and who also experiences more disappointments rather than success. I’ve dealt with the worst and manage to overcome them, and so can you!

10. TALK THAT TALK

The best feeling I must say is seeing your dream become a reality. Seeing it come to life is a really GREAT feeling. whether it’s finding your own storefront, seeing major results, or even your first profit. Evaluate your dreams, weigh the possibilities and DO IT!

7 Tips/Advice For Your Twenties

IMG_9986

“Elegance is usually confused with superficiality, fashion, lack of depth. This is a serious mistake: human beings need to have elegance in their actions and in their posture because this word is synonymous with good taste, amiability, equilibrium, and harmony.

Being only twenty, I’ve faced many difficulties and challenges. Those same challenges only made me feel even more powerful to conquer anything. I’ve learned that I’m only twenty and have years to actually figure out what life REALLY means to me. It may be very “upsetting” or “aggravating” seeing other girls around me having everything figured out in life. I sat down and began to ask myself, “What do you really want out of life?” I made a list of things.

  1. To be successful
  2. Love
  3. Wealth
  4. More Happiness
  5. Wisdom
  6. MORE LOVE
  7. Travel

To be able to have those seven things. What can I do to possibly get those things out of life? To work hard. Life comes with so many challenges, I find myself giving up sometimes. I found myself trying to be so “perfect”, but in reality, I’m only 20. Its ok to have mistakes. Its ok to NOT be the perfect young woman that I’m trying to be! Heres 7 tips/advice for your twenties!

“YOU, ME OR NOBODY CAN HIT YOU AS HARD AS LIFE”

  1. EMBRACE YOUR MISTAKES/MESSINESS

As young ladies, we put so much pressure on ourselves to have it all figured out, even though no one does. And I’ve always been scared to take that pressure off, fearing it will mean I will flourish less. Even though I have many bumps in the road, it doesn’t take away my value. I’m still young with plenty of ambition! Take into consideration that God has a different path for everyone. Everyone’s path is different! Its ok to mess up. Embracing the messiness, rather than resisting it.

 2.  SELF- CONFIDENCE

Pay close attention. I’ve worked on my self-confidence for quite some time now. Having confidence plays a major role in your life! Rather it’s taking a risk in life or doing something outside of your comfort zone. In order to be successful, you have to take a major risk, and sometimes you can’t have that “fear”. Believe in yourself.

3. BEING “OK” TO FAIL

While on our path, you will face certain situations that will put you on your butt. I can count on how many times I’ve failed. I never let my failures to change my outlook on anything. It’s all apart of the learning process!

4.  STAY ORGANISED

I often find it’s the little things I do that make the biggest difference in my life. Create an environment that has at least some semblance of control, I can feel on top of the world. And it only takes a few minutes.

5. SUPPORT SYSTEM

It’s easy to criticise those around us for not living their lives the way we think they should, but it’s important to realize that criticism and judgment and shame are never healthy motivators. And not only are these things not helpful, but they’re also a display of our insecurities and limitations to the world. Be supportive of those around you, always. Even if you wouldn’t do it yourself.

6. INTUITION

We always get told to trust our intuition, but what about acting on it? I’ve found that acting on my intuition doesn’t feel as good as it sounds. It scary and intimidating. But acting on my intuition is helping me develop my own wisdom and grow as a person. Therefore, get rid of that suckish job, remove that bitter ex-boyfriend that was holding you back. GO WITH YOUR MOVE!

7.  HAVE FUN

The twenties shouldn’t always be able to work work work and more work, instead have fun! Go out with your friends. Do something outside of the box. Travel even if it’s to the next state. Live your life on the edge filled with thrills!

IMG_1024  “Women who wear black lead colorful lives.” — Neiman Marcus

Since we are closing out 2017 and jumping into 2018, a lot of trends have graced  2017! From thigh-highs, furs, glasses, scarves, lemonade braids; so forth and so on. One of my favorite trends of 2017 was most definitely wigs! Wigs have played a major part amongst the African American community. Wigs have been around for centuries, but the versatility and different looks made quite mark this year.

Black women have struggled with the complexity of our long kinky hair, hell I should know! Having natural hair is quite a struggle. From detangling, washing, and trimming. It can be a hassle! Since I’ve started wearing wigs, I must say, I feel very “new” and when I say “new” I mean, I feel like a NEW WOMAN. Hair gurus, hairstylists, and your everyday female have taken the transition to wearing wigs! A few of my favorite female celebrities have SLAYED my life while wearing wigs throughout 2017. One of my favorite celebrity wig slayer this season has been Kim K follow by Nicki Minaj for breaking the internet with her ’40 bone straight wig! Since the trending of wigs.

I must say, every girl should have clothes in her wardrobe but wigs are also part of our “favorite accessories” Wearing closures has been my favorite wig. I have both a long straight wig and a real kinky curly wig! A few of my favorite groundbreaking wig stylist consist of @IAMALONZOARNOLD @IAMMINGLEE @CLIFFVMIR. Those three stylists inspired me to start my own wig services. Since I’ve started blogging, I was extremely inspired to start making wigs and so I did! May 2018, GlitZHairCrowns will be my own website which will consist of different “ready-made” wigs or if you want your own customized wig, you can place your own order with your own hair provided!
