“Elegance is usually confused with superficiality, fashion, lack of depth. This is a serious mistake: human beings need to have elegance in their actions and in their posture because this word is synonymous with good taste, amiability, equilibrium, and harmony.“
Being only twenty, I’ve faced many difficulties and challenges. Those same challenges only made me feel even more powerful to conquer anything. I’ve learned that I’m only twenty and have years to actually figure out what life REALLY means to me. It may be very “upsetting” or “aggravating” seeing other girls around me having everything figured out in life. I sat down and began to ask myself, “What do you really want out of life?” I made a list of things.
- To be successful
- Love
- Wealth
- More Happiness
- Wisdom
- MORE LOVE
- Travel
To be able to have those seven things. What can I do to possibly get those things out of life? To work hard. Life comes with so many challenges, I find myself giving up sometimes. I found myself trying to be so “perfect”, but in reality, I’m only 20. Its ok to have mistakes. Its ok to NOT be the perfect young woman that I’m trying to be! Heres 7 tips/advice for your twenties!
“YOU, ME OR NOBODY CAN HIT YOU AS HARD AS LIFE”
- EMBRACE YOUR MISTAKES/MESSINESS
As young ladies, we put so much pressure on ourselves to have it all figured out, even though no one does. And I’ve always been scared to take that pressure off, fearing it will mean I will flourish less. Even though I have many bumps in the road, it doesn’t take away my value. I’m still young with plenty of ambition! Take into consideration that God has a different path for everyone. Everyone’s path is different! Its ok to mess up. Embracing the messiness, rather than resisting it.
2. SELF- CONFIDENCE
Pay close attention. I’ve worked on my self-confidence for quite some time now. Having confidence plays a major role in your life! Rather it’s taking a risk in life or doing something outside of your comfort zone. In order to be successful, you have to take a major risk, and sometimes you can’t have that “fear”. Believe in yourself.
3. BEING “OK” TO FAIL
While on our path, you will face certain situations that will put you on your butt. I can count on how many times I’ve failed. I never let my failures to change my outlook on anything. It’s all apart of the learning process!
4. STAY ORGANISED
I often find it’s the little things I do that make the biggest difference in my life. Create an environment that has at least some semblance of control, I can feel on top of the world. And it only takes a few minutes.
5. SUPPORT SYSTEM
It’s easy to criticise those around us for not living their lives the way we think they should, but it’s important to realize that criticism and judgment and shame are never healthy motivators. And not only are these things not helpful, but they’re also a display of our insecurities and limitations to the world. Be supportive of those around you, always. Even if you wouldn’t do it yourself.
6. INTUITION
We always get told to trust our intuition, but what about acting on it? I’ve found that acting on my intuition doesn’t feel as good as it sounds. It scary and intimidating. But acting on my intuition is helping me develop my own wisdom and grow as a person. Therefore, get rid of that suckish job, remove that bitter ex-boyfriend that was holding you back. GO WITH YOUR MOVE!
7. HAVE FUN
The twenties shouldn’t always be able to work work work and more work, instead have fun! Go out with your friends. Do something outside of the box. Travel even if it’s to the next state. Live your life on the edge filled with thrills!
